Halloween - Evening

On Halloween, I got off of work a few hours early to get the kids ready for the evening in their costumes. It took longer than I expected, so we didn't make it to campus in time to see everyone before they got off of work at 5, but we did manage to make a quick stop at State Bank.

Here is Cambrie all ready to go trick-or-treating!

Calina is all ready to go, but in need of a nap...

Andy dressed up this year!

After 5:00, we did some trick or treating at Juniper Hall on campus. It was kind of strange, so we left and went to Halleluiah night. It's like a carnival that is free to the public. A local church puts it on. It was really fun. Cambrie played lots of fun games and got a bunch of candy for it. It's really a cool idea. I think we'll probably make it a tradition to go to it every year.

After we were done at the carnival, we went to my parent's ward trunk or treat that was out by their house. They had soup and chili for dinner, a halloween parade, and of course trunk or treating. The girls had a lot of fun, and got LOTS of candy!

Here is Calina being oh, so, cute in her bunny outfit at the truck or treat.

Cambrie is hanging out in the back of "Pa-pa's" truck, eating her homemade chicken noodle soup and crackers...yum yum!

Cambrie (witch), Pa-pa, Alex (turtle), Me, and Calina (bunny) in the Halloween Parade at the trunk or treat.

Although she is too young to partake, I had to get a picture of Calina going through the "stash." She was so enjoying all the pretty colors! I was having a hard time keeping her out of it, so I thought, "What's the harm?"

Halloween - Morning

The girls' school let them dress up on Halloween for the first couple of hours of the day. I didn't want Cambrie to wear her "princess witch" costume so she wouldn't get it dirty before trick or treating that evening, so I put this one together last minute from her dress ups...I thought it turned out really cute! Cambrie thought so, too because she told me she didn't want to be a princess witch any more. But she ended up having an accident in this costume, so we wore the princess witch one, anyway.
Cambrie excited to go to her school party.

Discovery Clubhouse Halloween Party

We went to a Halloween Party at the girls school. It was in the evening and a lot of fun. They had games and crafts and lots of candy and treats!!
Here is Cambrie decorating a cookie with some purple frosting....yum.
Andy and Calina looking festive at the party! :)
Cambrie knocked down ALL of the inflatable pins with the inflatable bowling ball! The teacher at this station said Cambrie did the best out of anyone!!
In this room, they had these little pumpkins that were black, but if you rub off the black, there are bright rainbow colors underneath. Cambrie is looking at her wooden stick in this picture, trying to figure out where the colors are coming from....always a scientist!!

Pumpkin Carving

Cambrie and Andy had fun carving this pumpkin while I was doing some homework. I thought the pumpkin turned out really great!!

The Joys of Teething

Calina was teething last month. Her teeth finally came through about a week and a half ago. For some reason, Cambrie was never too phased by the whole teething thing. But she usually got one tooth at a time. Calina got both of her bottom middle teeth and she had SUCH a hard time. It was SOOO sad! She's not one to cry too much, but she was just crying all time time the whole time she was getting her teeth in. She also had a fever, runny nose, rash, and cough. No fun!!

No teeth yet!!
SOOOOOO sad!!!!Only happy when with her mommy!!
Yay!! The teeth are FINALLY here!! (gotta look really close)

Zoe Growing up!

Zoe is getting bigger. We weighed her today and she was just shy of 20 pounds. Andy has installed a doggy door in the garage so that she can get out to the yard and run around and also come in when she needs to. She has been a quick learner and already knows: Sit, Home, Stay, Down, Shake, and Go Get It (Fetch). She is 4 months old today. We got her at 6 1/2 weeks.

Zoe at 9 Weeks and 6 1/2 Weeks

13 Weeks (3 months 1 week)

Tis The Season (Well...Almost)

I know I've been a slacker and STILL haven't posted anything about Halloween (don't worry -- I'll get it one of these days), and I know Thanksgiving hasn't even passed, yet, but I've been feeling the holiday spirit a little bit early, and since there's no such thing as Thanksgiving music, I decided to put my Christmas music playlist up. I'm sure you haven't noticed it.....it's only bright red and the first thing you see when my blog opens... I selected it NOT to start playing automaticlly so those who either don't want to listen to Christmas music yet or already have music from three blogs playing don't have to listen. So just push play and listen to some of our favorite Christmas tunes....or not.... :)

Dog Food......Yummy!

Lissa wanted me to post this story.......A month or so ago we took our puppy Zoe up to my parents house to introduce her to the family. My sister Cari came over with her kids and cute new twins. All the kids were just having a blast playing with the puppy and acting like dogs the whole evening. The next day when I packed up the dog and all her stuff to go home there was dog food everywhere and I assumed it was Zoe. Well, about a week later Cambrie was out in the garage feeding Zoe with me and she made the statement "dog food is healthy huh dad" I told her that it was. She went on to tell me that she didn't like the taste of it. I asked her if she had eaten dog food before and she told me that Brinly (Cari's girl) told her that dog food was healthy for kids. She went on to explain that Brinly, Kelsi, and her had all eaten dog food but that she didn't like it. I thought it was funny.....I faintly recall trying dog food myself with a friend when I was younger :)

Silly Cambrie

I just had to post the latest amusing anecdote of Cambrie Kaye Crosby. We ate dinner one night this weekend and Cambrie didn't like what we were having, so she wouldn't eat more than one bite (her "no thank you" bite) of her dinner, even though she was hungry. Me, being the mean mother that I am told her that she would not get anything else to eat unless she ate her dinner. She didn't do it, so she went hungry. After dinner was cleaned up, we got in the car to go grocery shopping. On the way, Cambrie was politicking to go out to eat because she was hungry. When we were almost to Wal-Mart, she said, "Mom, can we PLEASE eat at Pepper's? I REALLY want to eat at Pepper's." After she said this, I was thoroughly confused because there is no "Pepper's" in Cedar City, and we have never eaten at a "Pepper's" in her entire life. Then I looked out my window and it all became clear:

Stickers!

I knew that I have had this test that I needed to complete online for one of my classes. The due date is tomorrow which just happens to be my birthday, so I wanted to finish the test today so that I didn't have to worry about it tomorrow. Andy was SOOO sweet and said he would watch the kids for me while I studied and took the test this morning. It sounded like the kids were having a good time, so I wasn't too concerned that I didn't hear Andy at all. I finished my test and my tax return that is also due tomorrow, and went to find Andy and the girls. Here is what I found:
Looks like Cambrie had a lot of funny playing with her daddy. :)

Calina, 7 months

It has been a big month for my sweet bubbie. She is just constantly moving! A few weeks ago, she stood up without support from one of us. You can see her standing here holding herself up on Cambrie's Elmo table:
Then about a week later she started pulling herself up to stand. Then just last week, she started crawling!! It is so cute! Cambrie never was very interested in crawling, so this is a new experience for me. Here are a couple of pictures of her crawling:

We got this movie of her crawling. It is soooo cute, but at the end, Cambrie isn't being too nice to her. I think Cambrie for one was excited that Calina was crawling, but more than that i think she likes being in the spotlight.

So now, Calina is working on cruising and walking while we hold her hands. It still amazes me fast they grow up!

Lake Powell for Labor Day

For Labor Day weekend, we went to Bullfrog Marina at Lake Powell. We stayed in the DWR Residence about a mile away from the ramp. It was a ton of fun. On Saturday we spent the whole day out on the lake and at a little beach we found. It was a little bit windy (our camp on the beach got blown over while we were away on the boats), but we had a great time despite. I'm just glad we didn't have to camp overnight in the elements. On Sunday it was pretty stormy, so we only got to spend a little time out on the boat. It rained pretty hard when we were out, but Cambrie got to swim a little bit in the lake, so it was fun anyway. The only really hard part about the day was that my nephew Alex got sunscreen in his eyes, so he was pretty upset most of the time we were out. I felt so bad for the little guy. He's usually so happy, so to have him crying like that only meant he was in pain...really sad.
Here is a picture of me on Saturday skiing.
Here is Andy waiting to go wake boarding
Poor Alex after we got back on Sunday taking a bath
We stopped at Capital Reef on our way back and looked at these petroglyphs. It was a nice little place to stop and take a break. The kids enjoyed being out of the car!

School

So, I don't have any pictures or anything (shock)! But I thought I'd post an entry about how I have just started school, again. It's kind of exciting, and makes me feel young, but I seriously am so nervous about it. I don't know how I'm going to juggle two kids, a full time job, a small side business, a rental, taking care of a house, keeping dinner on the table, doing my homework, and now taking care of a puppy... Life will be busy the next couple of years.
I am going to SUU and studying to get my Masters of Accountancy. Right now I am taking two classes (6 credit hours). I am taking Advanced Cost Accounting and Corporate Income Tax. Both of these courses are pretty demanding, so I'm pretty much doing homework every night. I'm looking at a possible graduation date of Spring 2010. That's if I can take two courses each semester, including summer semester. We'll see how it goes. Eventually I'm hoping to sit for my CPA. It will be a long road between there and here, I hope I'm up for it. :)

Zoe

So I guess it's true. We've officially gone insane. This last week, we added a new family member. Her name is Zoe and she is 3/4 boxer 1/4 dalmation puppy. Cambrie just absoloutly loves her! She carries her around like a little baby rag doll, poor dog!
Here is a picture of Zoe resting on her little bed in our kitchen. Zoe is not allowed to be anywhere else in the house. Her usual spot is her dog run which is currently in our garage.
Cambrie holding Zoe in the "usual" position.
Zoe just loves to follow Cambrie everywhere she goes. Right here, Zoe followed Cambrie up onto the play equipment at the park.
Calina just loves Zoe, too! She gets soooo excited and tries to pull the poor dog's ears off, or scratch her eyes out. For the sake of both baby and dog, we try to keep them separated.

Pictures at SUU

A couple of weeks ago, Andy, Cambrie, Calina, and I met my sister and her family and my mom on the SUU Campus to take pictures. It was pretty frustrating trying to get three kids (one three, one 17 mo., and one 6 mo.) to sit and smile and look at us all at the same time... We never really got a great one of the three of them together, but we did get a few cute pictures. These are just a few that were taken with my camera, but my sister got some cute ones and so did my mom. I just haven't downloaded them from my email, yet.
Here is a cute one of the whole family:
A cute one I got of Calina:
One of Andy and I.
One that I thought was cute of Cambrie.
We had to bribe Cambrie with ice cream to sit for this one and smile.

Park Discovery

I took Cambrie and Calina out to get the mail. It was the first time that I dared to put Calina in our double jogging stroller/bike trailer. She did really well in it. Here are a couple of pictures of them after we got back home:

Cambrie for some reason was using Calina's head as an arm rest in this picture...Oh, well, Calina doesn't seem to mind too much.
Cutie Calina!
We took the girls to Park Discovery here in Cedar. Here are some pictures:
Andy holding Calina just after Calina went down her first slide (on Andy's lap, of course).
Cambrie sitting in one of the little buildings they have in the park.
Yikes! Allergies!! Poor Calina had some pretty bad allergies while we were there. You can see her eyes all swollen and red, her nose was running like crazy, and she kept sneezing. We finally just had to call it a day because she seemed like she was just getting worse. The crazy thing is that she was still so happy! I sometimes don't understand this child. She is one of the best babies I have ever seen! Still willing to give smiles when she must be feeling so yucky!

Pioneer Day

The week of July 24th, Andy ended up having to go down to Las Vegas for an auditing training. He was gone Monday through Friday. So during the week, I got to experience a little taste of what being a single mother might be like. Let me tell you, it wasn't impossible, but it sure made me ever so grateful for my amazing husband!!
So although Andy wasn't there to celebrate with us, we ended up having a really fun Pioneer Day. My parents spent most of the day with us, and we had a lot of fun. We started the day off at the Pioneer Day parade on Main Street in Cedar City. We then went to the park to play at the carnival that was set up for the holiday. We got some lunch at Wendy's, then set off for Pine Valley Reservoir where we spent a few hours, then we went into St. George for dinner. Here are some pictures of our fun day:
Cambrie and Grandma Vicki at the parade.
My sweet little Calina (Callie or Muffin) at the parade in her carrier.
Papa holding Alex and standing by Cambrie.
I had to get a picture of the State Bank float (Andy's employer).
This is the float of my parent's ward. The cowboy on the right is Alex's uncle Ethan (Nichole's brother-in-law, Chris' little brother)
Cambrie going down the slide in the bounce house at the carnival at Main Street Park after the parade.
Okay, I took this picture because I thought it was kind of funny. Cambrie (you can't see her), INSISTED that she go on THIS slide. She is the one in the front of the line holding up all the kids as she is climbing the stairs. After a while, the boy that is right in back of her got tired of waiting and carried her up the stairs.
When she got to the top (and all the bigger kids past her to go down the slide), she froze. She wouldn't move a muscle. I had to go up there and help her go down the slide on my lap. Then she told me she wanted to go down again, but when I told her she would have to do it by herself, she decided she was done.
Papa and Cambrie at Pine Valley
Cambrie, Calina and I at Pine Valley
Cambrie and I on a bridge at Pine Valley. You'll notice that Cambrie has no pants. She ended up getting them all soaked (including the panties) in the reservoir. I ended up having to put one of Calina's swim diapers on her because I forgot an extra pair...
Cambrie on some rocks by the stream that goes into the reservoir.
This is a cute movie of Calina wading in Pine Valley. She had just started babbling this week, and was showing off her skills. She just loved the water and the sand. It wasn't easy keeping her out of the water.
